Musk has previously suspended several journalists for sharing the travel plans of his private jet. The flight tracking app was created by Jack Sweeney, an information Technology Major at the University of Central Florida. The flight tracking app was developed to track prominent individuals’ private jets, including Elon Musk.
The Society of Professional Journalists has pointed out that Musk’s actions of suspending those journalists from Twitter go against when he promised to uphold the freedom of speech on Twitter. I understand why Musk suspended those journalists from Twitter, he was trying to protect himself and his family from possible threats. The journalists share the coordinates of Musk’s private jet and should have known better than to share the link and expect Musk to do nothing.
