I used negative criticism as fuel!

In middle school, I had this teacher named Mrs. Webb, and she was the special ed teacher. I remember when I told Mrs. Webb that I wanted to go to college, and she inform me that wasn’t practical for me. This upset me but it sparked some motivation inside me. I didn’t really hold a grudge against Mrs. Webb. She was used to making decisions for her other students, which were mentally challenged. If it wasn’t for Ms. Web saying that I wouldn’t be able to attend college. I probably wouldn’t take going to college seriously as i do. You never know how much negative criticism will motivate you.

In high school, I always wanted to be treated as a human being, not a disabled guy. I hated when people would come up to me and talk to me like I was retarred. That is just as bad if you walk up to a black guy and call him a nigar. I will never forget the first time I tried to mainstream into a regular english course. I can tell the teacher did not want me in her class, I noticed she used to stare at me. The reason why I wanted to take her class, is so I can have a better chance of passing my TCAP so I could graduate with a high school diploma instead of a special ed diploma. A few weeks into the class the teacher began to accept me in her class because she could see how hard I work.
