Tennessee Rehabilitation Center

During my last year of high school, I met with a lady named Jennifer Jones who was a vocational rehab counselor who told me about the Tennessee rehab center because I wanted to learn a trade. The center was a trade school for individuals with disabilities and people who were in accidents can also come there and receive therapy. A few weeks after I met with Jennifer, I went down to Smyrna where the Tennessee rehabilitation center was located. When I arrived at the center, I was impressed with the automatic doors with public schools failed to have. On the campus. I was able to get around the campus without any trouble. I have made several friends during my stay at the center. I had the opportunity to meet a guy named joey he accidentally jumped into the lake he thought it was deeper than it was. Joey was an ex-drug junkie who had to change his life due to his spinal cord injury. Joey introduced me to a guy named Marty he also has a spinal cord injury. When I started talking to Joey and Marty I was nervous about what to say to them, because this was the first time that I was really around other disabled people besides at summer camps, which were mentally challenged. this made me feel out of place when I went to Camp Easter Seals. I wanted to ask them what it was like to walk and then be in wheelchairs, but I didn’t want to ask them that, I figured that would be disrespectful. We all stayed in a medical dorm where the…
