Why are writers on strike?

Today I’m going to discuss the reasons why the writers are on strike in Hollywood. Writers also are demanding better pay and want to limit the use of artificial intelligence so their jobs won’t be replaced by ChatGPT. The writers were making a point that artificial intelligence is only used for research assistance and not to replace them.

The main goals of the strike were to increase pay for the writers and increase the size of the writers' room. Many shows were put on hold due to the shortage of writers in the studio. The strike started on May 2 and lasted until September 27, 2023, the writer Guild of America representing 11.500 screenwriters went on strike over a labor dispute with the Alliance of Motion and Television Producers.
